i'm not deaf

hell.o
ladies and gentlemen, it pains me to say this, but this is beyond belief : review of blitzkrieg pop
thankfully, i ignored the review, tracked down a promo copy through the wonders of the not-so-new age, and instantly decided that this album was by far the most invigorating beast to have graced my ears in ages. the mesh of industrial noise (yes his vocals are pure manson-esque - i care not), dark-n-dirty glam stomping electro and doom laden atmosphere just makes me want a lot more than the paltry 39 minutes on offer.
best album in months for me. no fucking question about it.
other goodies that need more exposure - the dfa remx of dare (gorillaz).
currently a vinyl only treat for a few lucky spinners, but i'm sure its on the wire by now. the dfa gang take the vocals from the original, and basically strap them onto a monster dfa groove of 12 minutes with complete disregard for the baggypop fun of the source. if you approach this track as a gorillaz fan, you will probably be disappointed, but take it as a completely new track by dfa and your world will spin a little faster. awesome is an overused term these days, but i dare anyone to disagree. the track makes me want to timetravel back to their spine moving set at glastonbury.
lucky luck me.
now, back to the true heirs of the term dark pop.
