you got that friday feeling ?

me ? nah. not at all. been a weird one. yet somehow i have posted a few new reviews recently for a whole range of releases out at the moment (or soon to be released).. > the (motherf*ckin') scaramanga six - best album for '05 ? quite possibly. > the others - ahh .. despite my inner calm i still really enjoyed this album. > 69 corp - weird and wonderful. > busdriver - weird and wonderful. but in a different way. > lunz - calm. serene. sheer beauty. special. > boom bip - lovely. really really really lovely. > amos lee - singer songwriter who didn't make me throw up. which is a bonus. > hexstatic - beats and noises. bumer value pack. full reviews at the usual lo-tech place i call my internet home. been loving : maple bee, silent orchestra (a seriously excellent album actually) and some funky noise by Tom Vek. onwards ! mark e ireallylovemusic

new sounds bursting forth .

folks. a weird few days. second born has been poorly, and the weather crap. subsequently i have found myself enjoying singer-songwritr kinda stuff. which is pretty f*cked up if you ask me .. but my sleep deprived state needs to be soothed and caressed. however, i can only take so much parental approved mor mush. so to finish of the day its's been a blast of to excellent new sounds : the rakes - retreat/dark clouds : supposedly a moshi moshi release .. this is more of that funk-punk stuff that everyone loves. and i can see no reason why on earth anyone would not take this into their hearts and jump with joy. its superb. best fwends : 5 tracks - 6 minutes. took a few spins of this anti-pop music. electro-punkpop madness. superb. but dont expect your mum to like this. (moshi moshi again .. limited to 500 copies .. so get that paypal order in sharpish) lo-fi-fnk - yup. moshi moshi again. are they on a roll or what .. this 2 tracker basically is mad electropop with a pete shelley type of vocal. not as direct or catchy as i expected. but shows promise. tom vek - i aint saying my goodbyes - tummy touch release ! apparently people are falling over themselves about this guy . yes .. it has 2005 written all over it, mashing together a punky vibe, lo-tech production, and a fine electro punk kinda thing going on. i'm down with the mad crowd. love it. and finally yacht club : 'yc-001' superb 4 tracker that took me on a trip to leeds 1986. its standout track 'yacht one' is dark gothic styled pop music. basic drum machines, echoed guitars, and chanted/looped vocals - a lot like old sisters of mercy dub version b-side mashed up against suicide's bar tab. - i expect (nee hope) to hear more from this lot. onwards ! mark e ireallylovemusic
